12-19-12 Lake Charles

Made a trip with Ray this morning and put some chunky trout in the boat. Started in Lake Charles and there were a ton of birds everywhere but not working in one spot just scattered. The only baits used today was the Vudu shrimp made by Egret Bait Co. They were used under a cork and jigging off the bottom. Attachment 44168Attachment 44169

I want to fry that lure. Man it looks good.

Those little guys are a bit expensive. I've seen some others that are almost identical to the vudu but can't bring myself to buy them.

These don't get torn up like DOA and TKO shrimp. They will last a lot longer.
And they don't slide up and down the hook like DOA and TKO.
They are very durable.
Qt. of live shrimp cost around $17.
I caught 30 or so Trout and 1 Red on that clear Vudu you see above.
Cheap if you catch fish. Only expensive if you put it in your tackle box and
don't use it.
And it is a little bit smaller than DOA and TKO 1/4 oz. lures. Fish eat dat
and hook set is better. Didn't lose any fish in 2 days of fishing.

I have been using two for about a week long than Ray has cause he was offshore and I'm still using it today. It still looks the same as the day I put it on the line. Have over 40 trout and some reds on the one lure. Here is a side by side of the Vudu and TKO. Attachment 44170

That's a good looking scrimp!!
I'm sold, some more plastic to sit in my tackle box unused!!!

Ray 12-19-2012 07:48 PM

If'n you use it, you'll like it.
It's a lil bit better than I thought.
Oct. and Nov. are big shrimp months, and it is still working into Dec.
Wish I had a couple during Oct. and Nov.
