Sweetlake 1-20-13 Geese are back!
 

Went with BigChaf and his boss to get on some last day ducks. Well by 9:00 we had 1 teal and 2 spoonbill. It was looking pretty grim for the day but for some reason the specks all of a sudden turned on after ignoring us all day. Had our 6 geese by around 10:00 sometime. Multiple very large bodies in the sweetlake area right now! Large flocks were moving around all day long. Water is receding and geese are getting thick. Next couple weeks should be fun!

I think those are my favorite hunts. When it's lookin grim and The good Lord does you a small favor. Makes you appreciate it more. Nice hunt

Great. Persistence and patience most always pays off. My best volleys this year were from 10-2p and the best on 2nd to last day of 1st split my mom Wanted to come watch for 2nd hunt of yr with me And I got over 20 specks to back peddle at 15yds and a group of 40+ BW and Gw mix to decoy all in 5min of each other at 1115-1130. Got there at 1015 settled waking out with my limit of ducks n specks 1140 with 6shpts fired. Probably most memorable trip ever and mom was there to watch it all come together and unfold. Awesome hunt its amazing when it all unfolds like it did for you guys.
