Anyone have any experience with them? Thinking about building one or two. But i read where in LA bream.are.gamefish and can only be caught on rod and reel? Not sure how true this is.

I have made a couple they are simple to make and they work very well. We use them in Toledo bend where they are legal. Also if you have a private pond you can use them. I make mine out of half inch wire mesh and dimensions are 24"x24"x8". Piece of styrofoam for bait and you're ready to go. I'll take a couple pics when I get home.

Just catfish Toledo bend. We've taken a lot of big catfish out of there. Last year we caught several 15-30 pounders a 40 pounder a 60 70 and 80 pounder. Between February and April.

We fish outa San miguel park. They have cabins for $60 a night. Nice facilities and the catfishing is really good. Covered boat stalls with electricity.

Oh yea. They work good for bait. Just gotta place em by a bed and in the right depth for the time of year and you can rack up. The holes can't legally be any bigger than 3" in length and 1" in width so you won't catch many eating size. Let us know if you go, we might be up there. And good luck

Best time for cats in Toledo is end of feb through may. Once it gets hot it's hard to keep bream alive on the line. They die quick with little oxygen. When it starts cooling off in the fall it'll turn back on but I've always done best in the spring. Blues in feb and spotted cats march and April.
