Harassing phone calls " what are my options"
 

I know we have some law enforcement officials on the site.

Can anyone tell me what I should do...

I have been getting calls from a particular number, at least 7 times a day. I answer no one on the other end. Call the # back it's either disconnected or no longer in service it's a Verizon # f it this is the # 337.658.9265.

This has been going on for about 3weeks I am getting very pissed!!

My question is what can I do?
By the way this is only on my iPhone.

I believe you can block # s...who is ur cell provider? AT&T, Verizon?

Good luck I went though this with that certain unnamed someone a few months ago that clamied to be the owner of the site. Verizon would not block the number.

I would get sometimes 20 plus text, 10 or more calls and more emails than I could count on a daily basis.

It's a bot dialer, They call at different times of the day to see when you answer.
This info is sold to telemarketers .that way they know when to call.

What about a restraining order?

Not sure about AT&T but Verizon told me to get use to it. You would think they could/would do something for their customers.

It took some time but a federal judge shut it down for me. Oh yea that and 10k in legal bills. Only in this country can someone with absolutely no evidence and basis make a claim and cause a innocent party to spend 10k protecting themselves. Don't get me started....... So much I want to say but people's feelings would get hurt defending said poor baby.

As far as the restraining order I was told there would need to be history of physical harm and or clear and present significant risk of physical harm.

You could talk to a lawyer but see the post above.... $$$$$$$$$

There is such a thing as harassment but being a minor crime and if you are crossing parish lines it may be hard to get anyone all that excited about it. Of course it never hurts to call the police, actually officers in this site were very helpful to me, there are some good guys on here in the law enforcement field.

Friend of mine blocked a number with ATT....it cost her $15/mth. He then downloaded a texting app and text her that way.... theres always a way around it for a human. But if its an auto dialer, this may work

Download the app called Mister Number. It allows you to block phone calls and texts from numbers. Also does reverse number look ups.
