One section, mile or so long, a couple of bends North of White Oak had the big "softball" size nests every 25' or so towards the end of last year...

You could pass right by them in one direction and never see the bastages, but look back and be amazed how you didnt get nailed  ...

Hate em' !!!

Hydro i got to fish around parkside sunday for about an hr In between the rain. Water was much better and caught one decent fish and missed 3 more... cant use my spec rod (medium light duce) for fishing plastics on bass. Cant get the hook outta the speed craw.

I sis well in the Wite OAk area before all this weather moved in! I had to find moving water, water in the upper 50's to lower 60's and 2-4 foot range!! Clarity wasn't a issue! Caught most fish on a 1/4 blk/blue jig with sapphire trailer or green pumpkin lizard.

BassYakR 02-12-2013 09:58 AM

Ive never thrown a jig on the river before. Not a bad idea. Always seemed like the smaller the bait I use on the river the more fish I caught. But I guess a 1/4 jig isnt very big either.

If you are not already, get some good high quality wide gap Trokar or Owner (or whatever your favorite brand is) hooks... The wider gap gives the plastic more room to move out of the way for better hookups...

Good to hear the water looks better on Westferk ....

X2 on the wide gap hooks, also make sure you're using the right size hook. For the longest time i was using too small of hook. Went up just one size and made a world of difference

I use 4/0 gamagatsu (not sure on spelling)
