Hit and run

Someone hit my mail box this morning and hauled butt!! I know this is a long shot but if anyone on here has any idea who did this all I want is to be reimbursed for a new mail box. I understand accidents happen, no big deal. It happened on Rosedown ln. in Lafayette this morning (Feb 19th) around 8am. My neighbor saw the truck and said It was a tan/pewter extended cab Tacoma or Tundra. Please contact me by PM on here or email me at bjhooper@lusfiber.net Thanks for any info.

Yeah it did. Their truck has to be messed up pretty bad. Im just glad my pregnant wife wasn't backing out of our drive way at the time and the person hit her. Then I'd be very pissed.

Contact some local body shops and put them on alert.

Damn.... He must have been coming in hot when he stuck it. I hit one back in highschool and it just laid down still intact!

southern151 02-19-2013 03:28 PM

Yeah, they'll be headed to a shop! Hit one back in 05 like that...$10.5k in damage to my truck!

I did go let em know though.

latravcha 02-19-2013 03:33 PM

I hit a few after some long nights at the bar but never a huge brick on like that.

southern151 02-19-2013 03:37 PM

Haha! Yeah, there was only one on the whole dang road and, you know I would find it! Bad case of late night stupid!

cricket 02-19-2013 03:40 PM

Can't never have nice things. People mess them up for you. My semi new truck has more dents due to stupid people and no one ever fessed up. Can't have nice things anymore.

evidrine 02-19-2013 03:52 PM

Too bad IronMan isnt here when you need him!

swamp snorkler 02-19-2013 03:58 PM

You need a mason!!!!, I thought you had a Lowes Special mailbox

ETA: At least he didn't break your sprinkler heads......

No tire mark, and the stones around the landscaping are still intact....... somethings fishy

I was thinking the same thing ... seems more like someone hooked up to it and pulled it .. just by the way it all looks

OhSoEasy 02-19-2013 05:29 PM

I don't know if there's a standard to the way you're supposed to build them but they normally don't break like that when being hit by a vehicle. I'm no expert and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn last night.

southern151 02-19-2013 05:50 PM

Depends on how fast you're going! LOL! The one I hit had no two bricks left together!

Someone defanantly hit it, 3 neighbors and my wife herd the impact and one of me neighbors saw the truck driving off and said it was sputtering pretty bad. One neighbor tried to chase him down and get his license plate number but by the time she got her keys and took off he was gone.
