New guy here looking for guidance

Hello guys this is my first post and looking to get my first boat this coming summer. Looking for something to go to Vermilion bay, White lake and other places like Mermentau river and Henderson area. So salt water and fresh water fishing. The boat i have in mind is the Triton 22LTS. My question is this a boat good for a first timer or should like look at others. I dont want to buy a boat I will out grow or regret buying. Thanks in advance guys

You will never regret that purchase. Unless you want a 24

That is an awesome boat for a first timer. Might be a little big for a 1st time boat but will be able to do anything you want in that boat. Very stable, dry, and versatile for fishing.

Thanks bud, unless i find a good deal on the 24LTS i think the 22LTS will do

If your looking at 22' Boats trust me just go ahead and get a 24'

But Triton is a great boat, hell of a starter boat you will love it

There is a guy selling a used 22 LTS in the classifieds on here. It is a very nice boat and well taken care of. I have a 24LTS and dont ever wish I had anything else.

Here you go!
This is Micah's boat!

Have you looked at any other boats besides the triton?

Gwee 02-20-2013 05:36 PM

Thanks guys but i won't be ready to buy till the summer after i finish a few projects. I'd like to see one in person and make my mind up.

Not tryin to steer you away from the triton but I'd shop around before I dropped a large sum of money like that.

2104 Frontier

If buying a 22 then frontier is a great place to start. If buying a triton buy a 24lts. A little more money for a lot more boat!!

BaseballFisherman 02-20-2013 09:30 PM

Triton makes a good bay boat. If you're looking to stay around the 22ft margin, check out the BlackJacks too. Big for a "22", fast, extremely dry, great layout.

meaux fishing 02-20-2013 09:31 PM

I would look at blazer, blue wave purebay, blackjack, and frontier too If I were you. Haynies are great boats but in my opinion the price is too high for a rolled edge boat. Plus if you're buying new you don't want to have to wait fourmonths for your new boat to be finished. And if you buy used most the time it's a guide boat so has been ragged out

I figure this wouldnt be a easy choice luckily i have time to look around. What are some good boat dealers that i could visit to check some boats out?
