Galveston Bay
Anyone fished here before? Going down there soon and thought I'd bring the kayak to try and fish.
Pointers?
Thanks.

Stick to fishing in La! I live in Texas and fish more in La than here! Way better fishing in the marsh and bays!!!

kayaking is great on the surfside side of the toll bridge on the extreme west side of the island. There is easy drive up access to cold pass and christmas bay off of bluewater highway. I used to wade those areas daily, and it is as good a fishery as any.

Seems to be the most accessible area in G'ton/Surfside for a kayak. You could also pay at the State Park and go to the bay side and launch in several areas. You could also take the ferry east to Bolivar Peninsula and fish the bay behind Rollover Pass.
Ido agree that the fishing there is not as good as in La., but it does produce good quantity and quality.
