Anyone ever see a torch like this?

My wife's grandpa was cleaning out his shed and found this. He said his dad used to use it to burn the tree lines. I think the plunger needs to be replaced, but other than that it looks functional.

Yep.... Just drop a little fire as you walk.
|
Yes I've seen one of those, I seen a guy burning the marsh with it in Dularge about 15 years ago.
|
He was going to toss it and the pack rat in me wouldn't let him. It just looked too cool! The instructions are hard to read, but I'm assuming you just put your fuel in and light her up. Is this correct?
|
Fuel is probably kerosene and yes, just light it up.

Haven't seen one of those in years.....called a weed burner.
|
I will give $10 for it:cool:
You can use 75/25 diesel/gas mix as well |

:smokin:I was called that a time or two:spineyes: |
Something like that is also used for control burns, after a forest is harvested, or to start a control burn in an unharvested forest.
They walk a circle around the area to burn, causing it to burn to the middle. |
I have seen them called Drip Pots, for starting hopefully control burns.
