Blue Water Charters is the top-rated charter company in Durban and is owned and operated by Captain Mike Laubscher.

Operating out of Wilson's Wharf Marina in Durban Harbor, Captain Mike proudly pilots his 32' Silverton Sport Fisher "Fat Girl", which is well equipped for the variety of charters that the charter company offers.

Blue Water offers a wide variety of charter trips, from billfish adventures to bottom fishing excursions to light tackle and fly fishing for pelagics such as dorado and yellowfin tuna. Capt. Mike also takes clients to experience some fo the awesome freshwater fishing in the area, targeting largemouth bass as well as the toothy tiger fish.

During the summer months, Blue Water Charters specializes in marlin fishing, when the warm Indian Ocean currents in Durban and Richards Bay are frequented by both blue and black marlin. Prime time is November and December, when Capt. Mike stays busy with billfish tournaments as well as catch and release marlin charters.

Late in the season is when "Granders" (marlin over 1,000 lbs) make their appearance in Richards Bay, and is also the best time for giant yellowfin tuna.
