turners?
 

Do you guys fish the mouth of turners bay or actually go in?never fished up north. Thinking of making an afternoon trip tomorrow. Gonna try to hit turners and some of the channel.

Thanks, i think i read somewhere about some culverts to watch out for around the island?

There is a shell reef to the NE of the island to watch out for. There is some poles marking it. Other than that I can't think of anything.

Last time I went to BL they had a big champion stuck right there....bet he had a expensive repair bill.

That shell reef would be a good start if its clean and has bait. EARLY morn n late afternoon.

They have reefs all over that area...south of the island is good too. If you get any type of east wind you can drift the whole area and pic up fish.

Yep as stated lots of reef over the area...drift pretty much anywhere and you're bound to find some

Thanks, looks like im gonna catch it right as it changes to SW. Hopefully its not to choppy. If so i guess ill try out LNG area

Where to Launch?
 

I have never fished the big lake area and think i will give it a shot tomorrow. Turner's looks to be the closest to I10 which i prefer bc I am coming from Lafayette. Any suggestion on where to launch and if they might have any live or dead bait?

Tonight: South winds 5 to 10 knots. Lake waters a light chop.

Friday: Southwest winds 5 to 10 knots becoming south 10 to 15 knots in the afternoon. Lake waters a light chop increasing to choppy in the afternoon.

Friday Night: South winds around 10 knots. Lake waters a light chop.

Saturday: South winds 10 to 15 knots. Lake waters choppy.

Saturday Night: South winds around 10 knots. Lake waters a light chop.

Sunday: South winds 10 to 15 knots. Lake waters choppy.

Sunday Night: South winds 5 to 10 knots. Lake waters a light chop.

Monday: Southwest winds 10 to 15 knots. Lake waters choppy.

Monday Night: Northwest winds 10 to 15 knots. Lake waters choppy. A slight chance of showers.

Don't think anyone has live bait yet. Coming from Lafayette area, Calcasieu Point would probably be best launch and not much of a run to Turner's.
