Big fish!! Nice!!

Clampy 04-12-2013 11:42 AM

It was a fluke. He must have been chasing a mullet and the shrimp got in the way ? :)

Sightwindow 04-12-2013 02:37 PM

The myth than big trout won't eat shrimp is among the more misguided theories in the sport. Big trout are lazier and slower than the smaller ones. If a shrimp presents itself easily, it'll eat it.

Certainly it would rather eat a big fish to sustain itself for a while, but it's going to eat what is available to it, be it a two inch shrimp or eight inch mullet.

Not saying he didn't catch it on rod reel, but this guy is a commercial net fisherman. And won't even put a rod in the boat unless he's going offshore.

All he's gotta do is pass a polygraph and he's in.

Polygraph for what? State of Mississippi doesn't make you take one. He's actually got several state records I believe for some random fish all caught in net.
