Well just dropped my oldest son Garrett off, he's headed to Fort Jackson, S.C. for Boot Camp. Between Boot Camp & AIT he'll be gone 5 1/2 months. WERE SUPER PROUD of him! But it's still hard to see them leave. I know he'll do awesome, still hope & wonder if I've done everything I could to help prepare him to handle what's to come. GO GET EM BROTHER!Attachment 49182Attachment 49183

I'm sure proud of him for what he is doing! It takes a lot of courage to go where he is going!

You should be very proud Jeff!! Those boys have been raised right, and they will make you proud. Best of luck G!!! God Bless you for stepping up and serving this country.

I am sure you are a proud father.....thank him and all the young men and women who service this country. May God Bless them all and keep them safe....

I bet his daddy is more nervous then him! That is some great boys you have raised there and one thing is for certain, they will defiantly not have to show him how to shoot a gun or survive in the wild! That dude has been knocking down deer, ducks, turkeys, and everything else with a heartbeat since he was in diapers! Good luck to you Garrett and keep us posted dad.

I truly believe Garrett is going to far exceed the other soldiers for all the reasons y'all just stated! The National Guard is gaining a very unique and talented young man. And yes, very emotional watching him hug his brothers and dad goodbye and see the nerves he was trying hard not to show. We will miss him but know that this will prepare him to do anything in life he ever wants to do! Love you Jeff

I do not know you very well Jeff but I know you are a man of principal and your family is very important to you.

We all appreciate what Garrett is doing and I know you guys are proud, as you should be.

If Garrett gets married and gets stationed at Polk. Give me a shout, I'll get him the hook-up on a house.

Duffy.yyz 04-16-2013 04:20 PM

Next time you talk to him, tell him I said "thank you".

CajunSteelsetter 04-16-2013 04:24 PM

He will enjoy and learn a lot from his time at Basic and AIT and it will be fond memories for him in the future. Good luck to him! The Guard is always looking for good soldiers. Might even bump into him sometime in the future.

eman 04-16-2013 07:11 PM

If it's like it used to be ,don't expect to hear from him for 3 - 4 weeks.
You know you raised them boys right and that will help him rise above the others.
He will make a great soldier. Thank's Garrett for your service to our great country!!!

Duck Butter 04-16-2013 07:17 PM

Thanks Garrett! This would be one of those bittersweet moments but he is going to come out in the best shape of his life. People pay good money to ge the training he is about to get paid for doing:)

Matt G 04-16-2013 08:12 PM

Look at the excitement on his face....... They will wipe it off for him, quick!

It takes a great person to serve. Tell him SC said thanks
