Redfish bait.. fresh frozen shad??
 

I have a friend who swear by fresh frozen shad for bait when fishing for reds in Venice in Nov/Dec.
I all ways try to buy live shrimp, but they are not available from time yo time.
How effective are FF shad?

Anything that stinks, a redfish will eat. It's more about their mood. Some people think they're mindless robots that will eat on demand. I've seen then turn down a freelined live shrimp. When they don't want to chew, they ain't gonna chew.
