Boat Registration

New registration arrived just before father in law died and evidently it was tossed in the aftermath. I have been trying to get through to La W&F without success to explain situation. Got any idears?

Form to order duplicate must be signed by boat owner and then notarized. This wont work because the signature cant be obtained.

But you know what they say....dont ask dont tell....

Printed it out and will get it notorized before sending in but with my luck the original will turn up about the time they cash my check.

I am understanding that this was your father-in-law's boat. If so you need this form...

Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries

Boat Title and Registration

Affidavit for Transfer of Decedent’s Boat

]
This form is to be used only when a boat is registered in the name

of a deceased owner and the heirs and legatees desire to confirm

their ownership interest and consent to transfer title.

Nope, it's my tunnel boat. Registration came in right before he died and my house became ground central for everything. My fault, should have taken care of it when it was in my hands.

My mistake, misread original post. Good luck.

If your boat, registered in your name, should not be a problem. Go to LDWF office and they will tell you want you need to do.
