Seaweed

I took a ride down to the Cameron pier yesterday, and after a few minutes fighting the incredibly fast moving water, took a ride down to Mae's beach to do a little surf fishing. The seaweed was nothing short of biblical. I tucked in behind the jetty's west of Holly Beach and caught a couple short reds but it was tough. Any tips on beating the seaweed, or knowledge on when it will hightail it out of there? My wife and I are taking the camper down next Sunday and Monday and I would like to get out there and have some fun!

Try fishing cut or live bait on the bottom near the end of the rock breakers. The seaweed will still get caught on the line, but the fish should still find your bait.
