Must be a Sabine fish caught in Texas. In Texas, they measure fish, in Louisiana, we weigh them. ;)

it showed a tad over 7 1/2 on the boga.. she probably was 8 a day or so ago before she dropped her eggs . Her belly was empty . It was caught on a live shrimp under a cork at daylight this morn. Im pretty sure she had just spawned due her lack of fight . She was hooked and swam straight to the boat and was netted . No fight in her at all .

Every body knows big trout don't eat shrimp. Specially under a cork. ;)

.5 lbs is good estimate of egg weight loss. You see too many people specially bass fishing that think eggs can weigh 2-3 lbs. " I caught this 6lb yesterday man if I would have caught her before the spawn she would have been 8.5"

Good post. I argued with someone bout this the other day. If they weighed over 1lb then they would be the size of a brick. And they are at least half the size.
