this past weekend at grand isle, caught a few fish here and there between storms and wind my little boat caught hell, but atleast we were able to bring some fish home, only caught one trout in the surf by the jetties, caught a few behind elmers and some redfish also, had to leave monday morning, sunday night the fishing pier wasn't to crowded so i was able to get in there, landed 11 keepers in less than 1-1/2 hours before the dolphins put an end to it, could have caught a few more if i had gotten there a little earlier, had a blast, only have a picture of the fish caught on sunday afternoon/evening

Looks good. I brought my two oldest kids down there. Fished limited time at night and about an hour early Sat am behind the camp. Picked up 17 keeper specs.

You're right, though, about the storms and wind, especially Sat night and Sun am.

yeah we probably could have caught more on live bait, but we still had fun, all specks were caught on artificials, reds were caught on jig head w/shrimp, missed a strong fish behind the wardens hq on a sparkle beetle

Yeah, I'm a sparkle beetle person myself. Glow beetle and glow/chart Norton Eel, Jr. is what I caught all my fish on Fri night and Sat am.

The camp owner next to us used live shrimp he caught in his cast net. He ended up with one more speck Fri night than I did using beetle on plain, un-weighted hook that night, and we pretty much fished same time of night.

I don't even know how to properly throw a cast net, so I'm SOL anyway if I'd ever want to use live shrimp. :)
