Grand isle
 

Headed to grand isle Thursday. Never been. Any advice? Where to launch. Where to fish. What to watch out for?

That doesn't sound like fun. Why don't you send meaux fishing a pm.

If the water is clear fish the beach. You can fish the rocks in front of the island. If you run west towards Fouchon beach the crowds are not as heavy.

If it is windy fish close to the island and hit the cuts of the marsh on the protected side where the water will be cleaner.

Bridgeside or sand dollar are both good launching options.

When you run through the pass at bridgeside going into the gulf go way out and swing wide, that shelf goes way out and you can easily run aground.

There will be birds working all over. The ones in the bay usually have small non keeper sized trout under them.

Mainly focus on clean water if you find it in gi the trout are there. Also you can get live bait but they will bite plastic under a cork usually just as good.

Shrimp boats were working the beach as of last weekend. Nasty dirty

Like Chicken said go right out of Bidgeside. I'd fish Elmer's island or Fourchon. Less competition. Look for clean waters and fish tandem sparkle beetles. Good luck.
