Lew's speed spool or Shimano Chronarch
All of my reels are jacked up. I'm looking to replace them with either of these. Not sure which I should go with.

I like my Lew's. Been having it a about a year with no issues.
That being said I fish with a buddy with a chronarch and he can cast about 20% further with me with same bait. |

Tourny pro !

Another vote for Lews. I have a few of them and have never had any problems.
T pro is nasty. Can out cast the curado I have. Had it with 2 brakes on and just played with only one on. Man it cast stupid far
both are good reels. depending on which Lew's you get I think it will come down to which one you are more comfortable with. Put each one on a rod and hold it for a while to see which one feels better to you.
Can't go wrong with either. I have one of each and they perform great. Have had my tourney pro's for over two years with no issues.
Lews is lighter but I find I prefer to fish with the chronarch. Better feeling reel IMO.
Shimano all day
At this point I'm leaning toward the Lew's, but there are so many to choose from. They are all made in the same place and very minute differences. I guess it just comes down to what you want to spend?
Chronarch is made in Japan.....Lews is made in Korea. Not to say lews isn't good I own 2 but I still prefer shimano. Parts are easier to come by and just feels more solid to me.
I've always had shimano never had any problems until the new chronarchs I got a tourney pro and would choose a lews over a chronarch any day

Dont think you can wrong with either one.
Get one of each |
I got a new chronarch when they first came out and it'll literally fell apart on me fishing after about 4 months I got another one through warranty and haven't had a problem
Chronarch if you plan on using primary saltwater-
Lew's I had on the Duce prototype didn't take the salt overtime.and several friends saying the same. Nothing will outthrow the older aluminum frame chronarchs if you can find a good old one. |
