Crabs

Buddy and I want to bring our boys crabbing in the am. Thinking about going to Sabine Refuge. Any tips? Just want the boys to have fun.

I see you posted this yesterday......hope you had good luck this morning.

Tips.......Get away from the crowds. Have a dip net with a 6 foot handle so you can reach out and net them before they let go. Bring a bucket and/or basket to hold the crabs. Count the crabs and write it down before you open your ice chest to dump the crabs. If you open the ice chest too often.....you won't keep the crabs cold and your ice will all melt.

IF you can go by boat, that is better. I like using Trout [not Redfish] heads or chicken for bait.

Here is a pic of what I use to catch the crabs.

Went in a boat and did pretty good. Crabs tasted great and beverages were cold.
