Does anyone know where i can find a plug like this for my trolling motor in Lake Charles, i am goign to call west marine in the morning and hope they have one, i can not find any in Alexandria and i am heading to the camp tomorrow. if i have to i can buy a different plug and plate and replace both but i would rather just buy the male end.

That's a regular twist lock plug, all electrical warehouses will have it, like Teche electric, Graybar or wholesale electric. May even have them at Home Depot r lowes but not sure

yeah went to lowes and home depot today, but the ones they had did not match the pattern going to try the supply house in the morning.

For trolling motor plugs [or any electrical connections], corrosion is a major problem on boats used in saltwater.

If you don't take your trolling motor off the boat......why have a plug?

The best thing to do [IMO] is to eliminate the plug and "hard wire" it and coat it to keep saltwater away from the connection.

Get you 2 of the copper clamps shown in the picture and a bottle of Liquid tape. These clamps are sold electrical supply places and the Home Depot here in Lake Charles has the smaller size. Lowe's does not have the small size......I bought a pack in May to replace my plug that corroded after 9 month.

The clamps and liquid tape will cost about $ 11

Cut the red wire about 1.5" different length from the black wire, so that the clamps will be about 1" apart after they are installed.

Oh.....don't forget to first disconnect the "Positive" wire from the battery.

Yep, try Elliot or Sequel in Alexandria, but those mentioned above and add CED in Sulphur to your list.

There is a number on the face of that plug that designates the configuration something like "L30-P"

The "P" is for plug and the rest is the "monkey face"
With that number you should be able to make some calls.

Ditto----i put a perko switch in the line as a kill switch.

I did away with my plug too. I soldered it then heat shrinked over the solder, then liquid electric tape over the shrink. No corrosion issues so far, and I think it is a much neater way to do it. No excess wire flopping around, and no plug to kick

There should be another number before the 30 which indicates the style. The 30 stands for the amperage looks like a L14-30
