A Few Things Cooking
Yesterday my wife and her sister made hot tamales. Some for us which turned out to be 17 dozen and another batch of 13 dozen for the sister in law. Our batch wrapped and no suace on them yet. http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...e/DSC02474.jpg With sauce, simmered and ready to package up. http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...e/DSC02481.jpg This morning I put two pork butts in the Keg for an all day smoke. No pictures yet but they're coming along nicely. I also put two pounds of red beans on to cook this morning and they are already done. This will be dinner for tomorrow evening and I know they'll be even better tomorrow but they are rich and creamy just like I love 'em! We'll probably make a cornbread to go with them. |
Mouth watering good.

I didn't get back around to adding this to the thread last night.
I decided to cook some Pastalaya in a garlic head. That's right a garlic head. Actually it's a cast iron casserole in the shape of a head of garlic. Lol..... http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...e/DSC02490.jpg The Pastalaya. This was a prepackaged version of pastalaya and it came out pretty good but a bit on the salty side. Next week I will work on my own version made from scratch. http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...e/DSC02493.jpg Served with warmed French bread and cream style corn(not pictured). http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...e/DSC02495.jpg |
IWEI, what premixed pastalaya did you use?
