GPS Upgrade!!

After much research I finally decided to upgrade to a new GPS. I ordered a simrad nss7. Pretty excited about it:churn::dance:
Check it out

Will add structure scan at a later date... Also thinking about getting a Sonic Hub sound system so I'll be able to control it through the GPS

Is there any differance between this unit and the lowrance gen 2 touch units. I see the price is 400 less.

This one is a touchscreen and also can be controlled by the buttons

meaux fishing 07-18-2013 09:58 AM

display is also 6.4" instead of 7"

Ive noticed on my hds 7 touch that if I keep on 2d mode vs shaded. 2d shows all the reefs south of marsh island and the reefs in the pass.

Shaded looks like the pic of your unit that u posted. It shows the shallow and deep contours along with the contour line.

Yours maybe able to do tge Same thing

you can find it at a decent price if you look hard... The thinng that gets me is the sirius weather service starts at like $30 month and that only for inland...Dont think I'll be adding that feature anythime soon

I actually only paid $850 for the unit but you have to buy the transducer seperate.

That is a good price...never really looked into the simrads. Thought they were way out of my price range.

they just dropped the price of this unit a few months ago. The 8 and the 12 are still pretty high though

Montauk17 07-18-2013 01:00 PM

Word....if I didn't fish freshwater anymore I would consider one.

Big Kahunaz 07-18-2013 01:30 PM
