I would not venture out too far with that size boat. Just running the quintana canal can be dangerous with the big bay and offshore boat wakes. Make sure you go on a day with light wind forecast. I would stay around the cove area, fish around the rocks. Also can try bayou pierre,it is west of the state park/shark bayou area. It is a good area to get out the wind and not much boat traffic. Gulp on the bottom and under a cork will give you a better chance to catch different species of fish. Good luck, make sure you wear a life jacket and kill switch. Game wardens patrol this area often.

Your chances few will increase in October and November with a small boat.

go through shark bayou and fish the banks in weeks bay for reds and flounder. but, try the cove first.

Kayaked this morning in shark bayou and skunked. High slack tide the whole time didn't help I suppose

We were about to put in and i primed the bulb and gas shot out the fuel pump cap so our day ended before we started hopefully ill be ready next time with no problems and better tides!
