Electronic Suggestions

Trying to decide on the last piece of the puzzle for the new boat. Can't make up my mind and wanted to get a few suggestions from the SC crew.

Fire away!

Lowrance HDS 12 touch. Played with one a few weeks ago. Thing is sweet but price tag is steep.

I just went with a simrad NSS 7.

Just remember, it is easier to share info with the same brands. Not sure about he Simrad. Going between Garmin and Lowrance isn't that bad

Simrad and Lowrance are completely compatible. They are both manufactured by Navico

I have the garmin 740s and I like it. Very simple. Im sure there are better but this one is easy and touch screen.

I have garmin and lowrance on my boat now. If I do get another boat, Kinda wanted an 8-12" screen that I could do gps and depthfinder/split screen. Any thoughts on that?

I would get the humminbird that interfaces with the ipilot trolling motor. Its incredible what they claim those combos will do.

C."W". Don't make me and those that fished with u laugh. Josh I can narrow this part down for u Garmin for the best user freindly and additional options are more reasonable on the pocket.I Use the hds7 presently but am Leaninig on putting it up front and doing an in dash mount on a 9.Good luck on the rig . Follow motor breakn as close as u can. Hope to see u soon!!

I thought about selling my HDS7 Gen. 2 and getting the HDS12 Touch for that reason, but I instead kept the HDS7 and bought the HDS9 Touch. Instead of having a 12" split screen, I now have the two units hooked together. It takes up more dash space than a 12" screen would, but I like the two seperate screens better than the split screen. I keep one unit on charts, and the other on sonar/ structure scan split screen. I am very happy that I went this route.

How do you like that 9 touch? That's my heavy favorite for the console right now. Like it better that everything is touch?

alphaman 07-26-2013 07:55 PM

I have the hds 7 touch with structure scan and it is awesome. 7 cant display video

the 9 and 12 can display video and the screen size and have a bigger screen.
