August 12 at 6 AM - From west of Atchafalaya River to Texas/LA Line
August 12 at 6 PM - From east of Atchafalaya River to Miss/LA Line - I got puzzled they set a date of Fall Shrimp Season Opening at 6 PM on Monday evening, August 12.

IDK, they always open the May Shrimp season 1 week or 2 before the rest of the state then all the boat not from this area come in and rape it and catch all the shrimp.

I could be naive, but i thought the seasons opened from north to south. Thats the way the ducks migrate right??

Seems like that would make since but not so much. Most of the early migrators (Greys teal pintail etc) fly to the coast. And the coastal has a lot of birds early in the season. Nothern zones want later dates because that's when their ducks start showing up after they get run outa Arkansas. That's only my theory so don't put too much stock into it.
