birthday trip

Took the family out yesterday for a lil beer drinkin, swimming and fishing to celebrate my birthday. We kept it real simple. Beached the boat, threw the castnet for mullet, grabbed a cold pop, the sat our butts in the water and waited for a bite. UglyDuckling and his boy came out and hung out with us. Ended up catching a couple nice trout, and had a really good time hanging out on the water. I love seeing the kids catch. U.D's boy caught one that went 5lbs that was our big fish of the day.

Thanks. We need to get them boys together for an easy trip like that. Lil joey is back in town, so just call when you are ready. Its too easy and fun not to hit that spot once a week till school starts.

Its also a great spot for cast net practice. I don't think I'll be throwing the net next year at all. They are starting to get the hang of throwing that 3 footer.
