how crowded are the weirs in Marsh Island

Im looking for a place to take my family crabbing Saturday. I know rockerfeller will be shoulder to shoulder. Friend of mine said something about rollover, but she said it is crowded as well. Is it any better at the weirs in Marsh Island since the access is limited to boats?

Of course Im not looking for isolation, but it would be about 10 of us and I want the kids to be able to move more than 5 feet in any direction without encroaching on people.

They can get crowded some days but generally they're not.

do you just tie the boat up to the weir? how shallow is it in there? My boat loaded down will draft about 1.5 feet

Basically any size boats can access the weirs. And you tie up to it or if you wanna be one of "those" people you can ram you boat onto the shell banks around the weir. And for the past 2 months every weekend it's been packed. So don't expect to many freedoms
