Can anyone recommend a shark fishing charter out of Galveston/N.O.?

The wife wants to get a way for a few days and lucky for me she wants to do a fishing trip and we would both love to try a little shark fishing. I see Galveston has quite a few guide/charter services that offer shark fishing. Anyone have any experiences with one, good or bad?

What about the New Orleans area?

The sharks are supposedly very thick at the Breton Islands right now, as they are every late summer. I imagine Capt Hoop at Our Freedom Charters could put you on some as well as anyone. But no, there aren't any guys who target sharks.

Mike Williams used to do this a while back in Galveston. I do not know if he is still around.

I would opt for a normal charter. You can catch as many sharks as you want and when you are wore out you could go catch something you want to eat.

Yup, go fish out of the East Side of Venice, do a bottom trip, get some meat and if you still have some arm stegnth left tell the captain you want to catch a shark. They would accomadate you. If you catch a mako I hear they are pretty good eating, good luck!
