2007 Suzuki 4 stroke electrical probs
 

Having probs with my motor getting power. I think its between the key switch and the starter/solenoind or maybe relay. I can here the fuel priming up when i turn the key on but when i turn the key farther to start it nothing happens. Checked all the fuses. Motor is a 2007 225 Suzuki 4 stroke. Any info appriciated. Thanks in advance.

I have a 2 stroke model and I had a similar issue. It ended up being a diode on the main ground pad. It's a jumper off the main ground pad to a diode then to something else. I don't have pics of it anymore but does your warning buzzer still sound when you turn the key over?

I know you probably checked already but one time my killswitch was just barely pulled off. Took me a minute to figure it out cause it was still connected

yes the buzzer still sounds when i turn the key and yea i checked the killswitch. Its pretty much doing what it would do if i tried to start it while the throttle was in forward

It could be several things I would have a mechanic look at it before you start throwing parts at it.

just looking thru it a little. Don't want to have it a shop for two months for them to tell me it was something simple.

Did you check all the fuses under the cowl? Wish I was more help don't know much about suzuki's. I know yamaha's four stroke can give trouble with the neutral safety switch.

Have you recently connected or disconnected a battery?
Mercury 4 strokes have a small part called a "suppression diode". It is a Y looking piece of wire that connects in line between the ignition switch and the solenoid. If you have a power spike, the diode blows and will not complete the circuit. The motor will do everything you say, turn the key on, everything works except the starter. If you connect the battery backwards, it will blow the diode. You might wanna take a voltmeter and start at the ignition switch and trace the wire to the solenoid and start looking for the problem.

yea i did disconnet the battery and hasn't started since. I see this part on the wiring diagram but not sure what it looks like or where exactly it is. Have any pics?

I had the same problem. Look at my post on the Suzuki forum. Hopefully this is your problem and the fix is easy. I did a summary at the end of the post, page two and three, I think.
