Final Amount Raised in the Tournament
I am pleased to report that we have set a new record for our charity event this year. I was able to collect all of the auction money this week and total that with the raffle money and entry fees. We had 127 total paid entries this year and raised right at $3,000 with our raffle and cash donations plus over $7,000 with our online auctions. After paying out the winners (just over $2,400) and paying for the tournament shirts, food and expenses we will be cutting a check to the St. Nicholas Center for $12,153.
I want to once again thank our sponsors for their overwhelming support and each for each of you that opened your wallets and gave with a heart full of love. Because of you this is a record event for a great local organization. The real winners here are the children. I will contact the St. Nicholas Center and present them with a check over the next couple of weeks. As we did last year I suspect that they will want to get the local newspaper out and take pictures, etc.... I will post pictures of the event when it happens. Also if any of you would like to be there when we present the check and see the center please come on out, the center would love to have you there. Also a special thanks to the moderators for working very hard this year while I was out of town and those of you that helped setup on Friday and helped us cleanup on Saturday. |
Great job guy's. Really appreciate everyone helping out and the donations.

Wow that's awesome.... Everyone's generosity and hard work will help make a difference in the lives of these kids and parents.
And a big Thank you for everyone that helped clean up with tables and chairs, since I was hauling them it made my afternoon easy getting on the road shortly after everyone. Since I did the cooking, I want to personally recognize a few people, Don Martin & Dempsey Pego for helping me cook. My son Tyler Martin for the music and helping us with the cooking. And most of all (Hydro) Kurt Covington for meeting us there very early. This guy set up every chair and table under the tent by himself while we unloaded and got the pots going. And lastly the lovely Shannon Ramsey for helping us plate up the remaining jambalaya so we could clean our pots and load them up..... I was out of gas but you stepped up at the right time. Thanks again to everyone... |
This is fantastic! Hopefully it continues to grow.

On behalf of the Board, serving St. Nicholas Center for Children, THANK YOU for this exciting and generous donation for our kiddos!! You guys have really outdone yourselves again this year, not just with the hard work and success of your event, but with the giving hearts that choose to give the proceeds to help local children with autism, developmental delays, and neurological disorders. WOW! What a gift to our community!! Our amazing children will continue to grow and progress and that is something you can all feel great about. Again, on behalf of the Board, our incredibly dedicated staff, our families, and the St. Nick children, THANK YOU! WOOP! WOOP!
