meaux fishing 08-21-2013 10:54 PM

thats crazy... I dont know if I would be standing on that bank

Bdub 08-21-2013 11:06 PM

Yea I'd be nervous standing there for sure....seems like its just gonna be a big ol lake...maybe good fishing after a few years?

Dink 08-21-2013 11:06 PM

Exactly what I was thinking Bob. Too close! Can't run fast enough

FF_T_Warren 08-21-2013 11:17 PM

Just saw that. That is flipping scary right there just swallowed 75'+ trees like it wasn't nothing

Sightwindow 08-22-2013 10:20 AM

Incredible. And incredibly sad for the people around there. Mainly because I'm having a hard time figuring how the company and likely the insurer and re-insurer is not going to go bankrupt paying everybody off from this FUBAR. Doesn't seem like there's any end in sight. And in the meantime, the residents likely get the short end of the stick.

I live not far from the sink hole. Bad Situation.
I have a few frinds that live right by the sink hole. I keep telling them we need to stock red fish in their back yard. Only place in Pierre Part you can saltwater fishi at.

Crazy. Was just fishing in that area 4 months ago. That thing has grown quiet a bit. There was a fairly nice neighborhood just on the outskirts of it that was evacuated.. Them houses still there?

Flatfishfreak 08-22-2013 04:31 PM

Holy crap!!! It's a tree shakers!!! Choot him!!!

10% of the fishermen catch 90% of the fish

As far as I know, there has been no homes lost to date. The residents are still evacuated though.

That would suck.... Not to mention the squeeze on the pocket book footing the bill for 2 homes.

FF_T_Warren 08-22-2013 04:54 PM

I'm sure Texas brine is paying to house them. Now they need to be buying out their homes so they can get on with life I mean seriously its a bit ridiculous. Hasn't this been going on for 2 years now?

Many of them had to do just that...Pay for two homes. My friend's daughter and, S-I-L are among those affected. Until a few months ago, all people were getting from state officials and TX Brine Co. was, "We're working on it."

It will be interesting to see how big this hole gets. Who remembers the lake that was swallowed up in Nov., 1980?

FF_T_Warren 08-22-2013 05:12 PM

Wow that's nuts and how that's acceptable is beyond me

TX Brine and, it's insurers are coughing up some pretty decent change right now. Erin Brockovich and, a few others chimed in and, finally got the ball rolling for these people. That said, what comps the forced eviction you receive, even though you pay your bills? To me, it's like going through foreclosure when you've been making all your payments!
