Kayak Icebox?

I’m a newbie kayak fisherman. It seems there are a lot of pictures of individuals kayak fishing minus an icebox. What do you do with the fish you catch if you don’t have an icebox strapped down in the back of your kayak to put them in?

I use a stringer and then I put them in ice chest when I'm out the water

they sell insulated fish bags, straps on the yak, stick a bag of ice in them and then put your fish in as you catch... check the new place in Lake Charles, Pack & Paddle, look up Austin Kayaks site or TKF.COM has alot of info

Many people, including myself, use soft coolers like the one from "california innovations"... They are inexpensive (usually around $9) and can fit in the hatch... Only down fall is that over time the inside liner will wear out and fish fins will poke thru causing it to leak slightly... I have had one for over a year with no problems... And for only $9 it is easily replaced... They can be found at walmart and other similar stores... You can use a stringer but take into account where you are fishing, that you arent attaching a meal to the side of your kayak like to gators or sharks... As mentioned, you can buy a soft cooler-ish especially for a kayak... I have heard they are more durable than a regular soft cooler but can be rather expensive...

Thanks much for your suggestions. The insulated fish bags / soft coolers sounds a lot better than what I am doing.

Best, :)
Tom
