Trip to Lake Maurepas @ Manchac
 

Got in the water a bit late around 830 this morning. I had never fished the area and pretty much went on a sight seeing trip to find structure. I know most go under the bridges but what are they fishing for? I went for cats and reds ( found neither) with soft shell crab and night crawlers. Also I did not find any good structure North or south of the landing. I guess freshwater fishing hasn't picked up much in the past few years. Thought I'd at least bring home a few catfish. But I will be going back despite since I fished the later part of the morning. Any suggestions on places to try, bait, rigs, etc?
