My guess is diamondback water snake, thought I'd get an expert opinion.Attachment 55312Attachment 55313
The youngest has always been the adventurous one... |
It does not look to have the markings of Diamond back water snake.......but I don't have a better guess. Maybe it is just a young DBW and the marking are less visible.

I think I have a winner:
http://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/serpent...en-water-snake He was escorted with the business end of a palm frond from the road to the adjacent high grass. Myself and the gang killed enough hardhead catfish this weekend to harken the Gene Hackman line from Unforgiven "Ain't we seen enough blood tonight?" |
That's GDCK!
|
the diamondback water snakes get big, and fiesty. i've been bit a couple times by them while running gilnets as a kid. they think they are a water mocassian but without the poison.
|
Shamelessly bumping this. Anyone else have a guess?
|
