Working Offshore

I am looking to work offshore and was wondering if you guys could provide me with any information on how to go about getting a job as a process operator offshore? I would also appreciate any feedback from you guys telling the pros/cons of working offshore. Thanks for your help.

Try rigzone.com to get an idea of who is hiring. You can browse the employment opportunities by job description. You can also post a resume there. I work on the drilling side and most drilling operators are hiring. 3rd party service companies are also hiring right now. I am not familiar with the production side so can't give you any advice as far as the operators who are hiring.

Pros- Great money, off for days at a time (gives u the opportunity to fish/hunt during the week), good benefits. Cons- Away from family/friends (women as Montauk mentioned). The offshore lifestyle is not for everyone, you will know fairly quick if you are cut out for working offshore. Good luck.
