Anyone used duracoat gun paint kits?

I'm considering trying out a digital or tiger pattern on my new 700

here are a couple patterns that look easier than digital

I did everything with flat spray paint. The trick is the 1st coats before you ever use the stencil. Get several (2 or 3) different name brand gray primers, cause they are different shades of grey, use that for you base coat, the come back with a flat black here & there, light in some areas & heavier in other (causes a shadowing effect) then use your stencils. They work really well.

Jordan if I ever get that way I'd be glad too. I'm coming in late Feb or early March for a week or so to fish, maybe I can catch up with you then. ????

im sure yakem and stackem can do it... i'd like to get them camo'd.... both are black synthetic... u gotta do any sanding to get the paint to stick ???? can i Kilz it first then primer it with gray, then go over with black ? im new to this and i aint too good painting... i tried painting a super spook jr and it totally looks like garbage... i need :help:

wtretrievers 11-05-2009 02:12 PM

No sanding! I rub the down good with rubbing alcohol to remove any dirt or oil. Sticks well. If it does scratch you can't see it in the camo.

I'll try & take some good close ups of my & my sons turkey guns we did & post them this evening.

If you help me........nothing. It's not hard at all. You ought to get your own set of stencils, you can use them on anything. Real easy, I can walk you through it. You'll have everything you own camo!

Click on the link I posted above. Cabela's or bass pro sells them but they're more expensive.

3-4 hours.........I did a buddy's 15' flat while we were in Venice in 2 evenings after work. No lights so we painted till dark both days. Probably 6 hours inside & out.

That's not bad. I need to "rhino line" the inside of mine, I had carpet but I ripped it out so now I just need to paint over it.
