Dulac 9/24 night

Took a short trip late last night on the Ship Channel. Seems the north wind was all it took to launch the '13 fall trout season in earnest. Found a set of lights shortly after shoving off and it was load and shoot from the word go. First cast was a 20 inch red (Alpha dog, obviously) and after it was a mix of keeper/non keepers of trout on every cast. One additional rat red after. Trout 10.5 - 13 inches slashed at anything thrown their way, including a bare jighead if it was worked aggressively. Shrimp popping everywhere and a few shrimp boats going up and down the channel while I was out. A dozen keepers before the skeeters ran me off.

Got to bed late and decided to pass on the morning action, but got a call from a buddy who reported similar action a little further south the past two days - early morning and late afternoon with easy limits under literally hundreds of birds diving on shrimp. Soooo, it's on! Fish will gradually grow bigger as time goes on til about Thanksgiving, then the winter pattern will take hold.. Happy days are here again!!!:grinpimp::D:churn::dance::cheers:
