wheres the best place to launch going to the beach? is the Davis road ramp open? Im coming from the East side, but don't mind the ride to the other side, going in the morning and never been to the beach

There is a launch on the east side by the jetties. I'm going to launch out of Herbert's it's closer for me.

I usually lauch from Heberts myself but thought it might be better to just drive closer. Can always stop and hit a couple spots going out of Heberts too....might do that. Thanks for the info

1woods, do you go thru the old ship chanell heading out? about how far is the ride from Heberts to the rocks?

Wow! I sure thought it would be too. North wind was strong tho

Jrchip1 10-08-2013 08:10 PM

Wind flipped out of the South around 2-3:00 PM, today, 10-8. So much for another day of soft North winds.

Beach will always be muddy w strog outgoing tides

donniej 10-10-2013 11:46 AM

Beach was still poo yesterday, wasted a couple hours out there with nothing but catfish ....went to the lake and got a limit just before sunset.

1Woods 10-10-2013 04:24 PM

I ended up not fishing the beach yesterday. We caught 20 small trout under the birds mid lake.
