I have the 3 white edition. It shoots great but you have to realize that the awesome films you see are made by talented people and yours will never look as cool.

They don't float with the suction cup mount attached !! Even with the life jacket on it

Any scuba guys on here ? :)

They are not very intuitive to operate . I have had the Black for several months but just now had the time to look at it . It seems a lil more difficult than the 2 was ... Maybe it just me . But I do know the user instruction pages are quite lengthy . I will have to print them up to be able to get the settings right. May be able to tell you more in a week or so .

Most important thing is to get the backpack. Infinitely easier operation with the touchscreen it affords.

I have the 3 black

What are you going to do with it? The wide angle lense on action cameras are really only good for close up work. For instance, if you were looking at a deer at 75 yards you would probably not even be able to see it once you viewed your recording.

Other actions cams you may want to consider (some have zoom capabiliites) include the Drift HD Ghost action cam and the Sony Action cam.

I have the Hero 2. Video quality is amazing but having no zoom sucks. Filmed a turkey hunt with mine couldn't wait to see how cool it was gonna be. First off, couldn't even hear the turkey gobble from <50 yards and couldn't even make out the turkey in the video.

The GoPro 3 battery fully charged last for about an hour. I'd advise to get a couple extra as well as a duplicates for the accessories. Maybe it's just me, but the accessories have small parts that get lost easily.

I want to get it for my boat. That way I can record those moments when they kids hook a big fish! Thats all I want it for.

I have the 2, pretty good once you get used to which angle to set it on depending on the type of footage. The turkey footage above is common when shooting wide, probably would have been awesome if it were set on mid or narrow.

The only thing I absolutely hate about it is that I never take the time to edit them and make cool videos. I did it once, spent 3 hours, the. It kept faulting when I would try to save, so now I don't even bother - just dump them in a folder now
