Danny and Carolyn Lirette from Houma met me at The Reel Inn at daybreak. We found hungry trout jumping out the water chasing shrimp at our first stop and steadily were slinging trout over the gunnel. We put a nice lick on them before the bite tapered out. Our second stop was the same we had 13-18 inch trout coming in 3-6 at a time. We made one short move to finish it off, and had to leave the hungry yellow mouths biting everycast. Just doesn't get any easier and better than today. Danny can definitely say there was no 'black cloud' hovering over him today. As always Matrix Shad double rigged and reeled with a very slow retrieve did the trick. Pink Champagne, Lemon, and Tiger were the top producers today. The trout just can't resist the incredible action of the Matrix and you can catch twice as many fish as compared to any competitors baits. The durability is awesome, just ask Danny what my bait looked like....and was still reeling them in!!! Thanks again Danny as it's always a pleasure fishing with you. Plenty birds all over the lakes today, and nicer fish continue to show up over the reefs.
