Anyboby run a 2084v aluminum

does anyone run a 2084v aluminum. I going to have a 20' built and think I want the 2084 but was wanting some experience in ride and handling.

I don't know about a 2084 but there are several companies that make 2072's and you might get an idea by searching forum about them.

A 2072 is a big boat.... there's one at bass pro in Denham Springs. As long as you have good deadrise and not a complete flat bottom you should be good

Thanks for the reply. I know the 2072 is the most common. Just wondering if the extra room, stability and less draft is worth the money and if the wider bottom performs better of worse in a chop. I run 2 boats now and want to hit a compromise between them. Not as serious as I used to be and tired of keeping 2 up.

It will have 15 degrees

What brands are you considering? I am in the same situation with two boats and considering one big aluminum.

Sorry it took so long to get back. I've been all day in Morgan City. I'm looking at Hanko's, Sportsman Fabrication & Scully's. What size are thinking of?

Those custom built boats you looked at in MC will outlast most any production line of aluminum boats.
My brudderinlaw has a Hanko that is close to 30 years old. It has a fan tail and a large front deck and it has been used for recreational fishing, oilfield work and oystering. Had to swap out the engine but never an issue with the boat.
I would not recommend carpet. That was his only regret. They have so many options now that are a lot better than carpet.

I think a 22 to 24 would serve me well. I absolutely love my 18' alumacraft when it's calm but if there is any chop I use my Keywest 246 bay reef. The key west is the best dry ride I have ever owned but I can't go behind the wiers because of the T top. I guess I could take it off and keep both boats???

Sounds like we're real close in boats. I run a 17' alumacraft cc. Low maintenance, low fuel tows great. Just have to pick your days and places. My other is a Parker BigBay 2300T. Super boat do all boat. Drafts 10 - 12 inches. Will run in 6', just don't stop. Takes rough water well. More maintenance and fuel. I used to take a lot of people fishing and was very serious about. I'm 60 now. Fish mostly with a buddy or by myself. Not near as serious. I'm going to 1 boat that I'll be comfortable in when I'm 80. A want less maintenance, easier towing, lockable dry storage, less gas. I want to be able to fish the close rigs on good days or Saline/Larto with out worrying about cracking my hull on a stump. I'm looking at a 2084 with plenty of storage, I-Pilot, trim tabs, jack plate, power pole, steps to front & rear deck. Has anyone used Lake Area Marine to rig a boat? Hanko & Scully will completly rig it like I want. Sportsman prefers to do all the aluminum work and someone else rig and paint.

Good looking boat. Is the fuel tank under the console & live well in front? What size boat. Do you have contact info?

swamp snorkler 12-04-2013 07:50 AM

http://www.boatdealerworld.com/Texas...orks-5791.html this is all I found..... if you bring that to any of the 3 builders your listed they can copy it.

parker23 12-04-2013 04:14 PM

Thanks. I can find anything on their work. I think I've got the layout I want. Trying to decide were to place the fuel tank. Some say under the console, others forward and others in the belly.
