Shark Kills Kayak Fisherman
It sounds like keeping your feet out of the water is a good start to avoiding contact with apex predators.

And don't use a kayak the same color as a seal or sea lion??

I think it's more of the contrast than the color itself. If they're looking up and the sun is shining down everywhere and there's a big dark spot, it's going to get their attention. I think if you're down in the water with them, colors and patterns may come more into play.
As far as seals and stuff, I was thinking more of the people fishing inland in waterways connected to the Gulf. I know we get shark sightings from time-to-time in Prien Lake, Lake Charles, and the mouth of the Calcasieu River. I'm sure they love spots like the saltwater barrier that is stirring up lots of food and attracting fish. Plus, the water would probably be murkier (if that's possible around here lol), which is never a good thing. |
Tiger sharks are just really curious they will eat anything. They love sea turtles , trash , logs whatever. They see something floating they are coming look & dude had his leg over the side. He just took an exploratory bite and prolly cut the femoral artery with ease.
