Shallow anchor

Power pole or Talon? I have to make a decision soon so I would like y'all's opinions.

Thanks!

I have a talon and like it but it is pretty new so i'll say....break out the ruler.

Power pole. I just ordered a 10'er. Had an 8' for a good while with no problems.I like the ability to drop it down out of the way if you have people fishing the back of the boat. There are some pretty good youtube videos out there of the ruggedness of the p/p.

Power pole all the way for me. Great product and equally great customer service. I have no personal experience with the talon, but I know several people on this site that have had serious issues with them

I figured as much... Knew you couldnt live without a bay boat for too long

For those with power pole, when it's not deployed how much higher is it then your outboard? I know the talon can pivot. I have to make sure I have no issue with the garage.

Thanks!

all depends on which size your getting.

meaux fishing 12-17-2013 11:03 PM

I have the 8ft and it sticks up maybe 1ft when the motor is trimmed up

T-Dave 12-17-2013 11:20 PM

That brings up another question. 8 or 10, I don't think I would need more then 8 but are any of y'all unhappy you didn't get the 10? In other words do you actually use it that deep?

Thanks

I dont. Ive had the 8 for almost 4 years. Now before I got the ipilot trolling motor I thought about getting the 10. The only time I use it now is in 4ft or less, and mostly in the marsh when Im trying to keep my back end from swinging in a current. That being said, I was to buy a new one for the first time, I would probably get a 10

I have a 10, wish I had 12. TwoFoot-itis.

Seriously though

fishinpox 12-18-2013 12:04 AM

I have a 10' on my boat only time it worries me is when I'm in 1.5-2' of water and its really windy . Tge 10' is so long it wants to twist and torque

fishmaster911 12-18-2013 04:12 PM

do this with a talon and see !

rustyb 12-19-2013 05:52 PM

I have the 10ft blade and I like it. No probs.

skeeter77346 12-19-2013 08:10 PM

PowerPole. 100% all the way.

Tremendous warranty and customer support.

If you tear it up, like dragging up a boat ramp deployed down on a trailer and trash the spike....

Yep, they will send you a new spike no charge, no freight. Really.

Clampy 12-19-2013 08:20 PM

Love my 10' blade
