2 weeks...

Till I'm in Africa laying the smack down on some exotics!

Chip Landry 12-29-2013 10:41 PM

That should be fun... What area are you going and what species are you targeting?

fishinpox 12-29-2013 10:49 PM

Kudu x1
Gemsbuck x1
Impala x2-3
Zebra x1
Blue wildebeest x1
White blesbuck x1
Baboon x1
Giraffe? Trying to convince my fiancé but its tge only one she don't want me to kill

They say there are also some fallow deer that have been introduced to the area so I'd like to shoot a chocolate one and a spotted one to complete the species with the white one I shot last year .

Spending 5-6 days in Cape Town sight seeing then we fly to port Elizabeth to hook up with our outfitter, we will hunt 14 days @ 3 different camps ( mountian , bush, and costal )

Chip Landry 12-29-2013 10:53 PM

All those mounts are gonna take up some wall space...

fishinpox 12-29-2013 10:59 PM

Yeah, trying to decide if ill get em all mounted or just a few n have the horns/ antlers sent back to set on book shelf. Prolly just get them mounted and when I build my next house build a big office/ man room that's 2 stories tall to accommodate the mounts .

speck-chaser 12-29-2013 11:17 PM

Have a feeling you will be hunting the first 5-6 days too..:D

Looking forward to seeing this report. What are you going to shoot the baboon with?

swamp snorkler 12-30-2013 10:47 AM

My little boy killed all of them minus the Giraffe, Baboon and Zebra on some hunting game he has. Good luck.

Maybe a 270 wsm but might go smaller and borrow something from my PH so I don't tear it up . I'm gonna do a full body mount with it standing with its hand out and put it in my office

Mike, if you'd make a sudden sale on that new house you could add a cape buffalo to that list. The ultimate big game prize.

I know a lawyer that spent $20k on a hunt over there for a cape and ended up with nothing because the "kill" was not guaranteed. He shot the dude three times and still didn't get it.

I was talking about the guide :D

Salty 12-30-2013 12:12 PM

That happened 10-12 years ago. I'd hate to think what that hunt costs now. I'd hate to shoot one of them dudes cause I know I couldn't out-run him.

LOL! If you found a tree with butts all underneath.......look up. :smokin: Wouldn't want me no encounter with one of them dudes.

40" + Cape buffalo is 28,000.00.

I'd like one but not this trip , after this trip it's time to start cranking out some lil churns, so I don't need to be spending that kind of money on 1 animal
