Best window installer/company
Who do you think is the best window installer in Lafayette area? Are vinyl windows a good investment?

I hear of a lot of people going with Dave's Screen and Windows. I'm going to give them a call myself in the spring.

They installed my organ gas windows. Did a great job! 6 windows 2 in each opening for $2000 3ft wide 4 ft long.

I would not advise vinyl windows. I had a pair installed and was considering going all vinyl but had problems with them warping and then the ballast in them would mess up after only a few months. I ended re replacing them with Alum windows and going all Alum throughout my house. That is the way to go with replacement windows in my opinion. Good luck.

My biggest concern is the durability of vinyl. Anyone else was experiences with vinyl.

This is across the back of my house. We are still not finished. Please excuse the mess. Aluminum is much better suited for replacement windows according to my contractor. They are stronger and new technology has made them every bit as efficient as vinyl.

This is across the front. I have very large windows. Vinyl would never have worked on the front. I was trying to get my utility bills down. My house is over 5000 sq ft and was built in 1968. Not much thought went into efficiency. My previous windows were very good quality but not very efficient. The big picture window in the front is 10' X 5' and had to be specially made to fit.
