Bait color
Hey guys, just windering to see how some of yall determine what color baits to throw, ive always thrown dark baits in dirty water, and bright baits in clear water, also what do you consider dirty or staind water?

I do the opposite and find great success
I do dark in clean water and bright or translucent colors in dingy water I also use the sun, in low light or cloudy conditions there is reduced visibility for the fish so I go with bright color and in sunny conditions with better visibility I go with dark or translucent colors. these can contradict each other at times so the way I see it it all comes down to what the fish can see, if the bait passes close to the fish I don't think it really matters all that much about color except under conditions where they are spooky but for the most part, when possible, I like to be able to see my bait in the water from at least 4 to 5 feet away so I know the fish can see it too. whenever you are unsure of the color to use just test it by dropping it in the water and see how deep you can see it, the better the more chance of attracting and pulling in that fish off to the side of where you are fishing. but I only use 5 colors in plastic swim baits, (clear, chartrouse, white, black, motor oil) all with glitter except the white |
