Turned the hunting boat into a fishing boat.

I have been braking parts on my trolling motor bracket for hunting season since I've bought my boat. So I ordered a quick release bracket. It wasn't that hard to install onky took about a half hour. It's going to make pulling the trolling motor on and off a lot easier. Attachment 65126Attachment 65127

You'll love that. That's what I have. Makes for a great dual rig

Yea I have to agree with you Warren. It's going to make things a lot easier in the winter time for hunting. It wasn't that bad to install, the only thing not too long into the install i figured out that these mounts were not made for boats with a lot of bracing under the front deck. That's what the two non factory counter sunk holes are for just for a lil extra support. You know how us coonasses are we have to over enginer everything. But all in all it was a nice and easy add on

FF_T_Warren 03-16-2014 12:19 PM

Yea the way mine was set up I had to tap the hole because I didn't have access to the underside. Still worked great

Quackhead62 03-16-2014 12:20 PM

It's for sure a good product

This was the easy part . Running wires .. Not so much

Quackhead62 03-16-2014 08:06 PM

I just have a battery that under my front deck so the wires werent a issue for me

Anyone use the MotorGuide Quick release? I'm looking to mount a trolling motor on my hunting boat when I get home. Could I use the MinnKota bracket on the MG trolling motor?

Quackhead62 03-17-2014 04:13 AM

I don't think that it would fit. I would guess that it is about the same to install as the Minn Kota

Yea I don't think the mk mount will fit mg motor. There are several different models just for the different mk motors. Not a very universal product like you'd think

I took my boat last summer to Southside and had him add this to my boat...use a receiver hitch lock to keep it from getting stolen. Easy to take on and off when I go frogging or crabbing.

Thanks, I'll look for the MG specific mount.

That's a neat idea.

I thought so too when I saw it...the plate under the trolling motor insert is a winch mount that slips in when necessary (hopefully never)

I got the Motor Guide Quick release and put a trolling motor on my boat. I really like this motor mounted on my boat this way. Had to build a spacer but I think I came out nice. Went ahead and installed a Guest two bank charger and a plug.
