Epic boats

Just got home from sportsman show in Gonzales, saw newer brand called Epic. They have bayboats in 22 and 25 ft models. Seemed very well made. Anyone have one or know someone with one? Very well equiped 22ft model in the low 30's. I might have found replacement for pathfinder when she goes.

epic is a very nice looking boat but do your research about them I did some research about epic bay boats and what I found was not good power poles tearing the transom off on some and they are a very thin hull boat not good in my book just do your research man

Epic is made in the old VIP plant in Vivian La. That plant has seen many BK's in its history, might be jinxed.

The salesman did tell me the hull has a lifetime warranty. They will be at the boat show in a couple weeks in Lafayette, maybe can get some questions together to ask them and see what they got to say. You can sometimes find out more by the way answers are given than by rumors.

Where is the pic of that champion with the transom off at the launch

PUREBAY2200 03-16-2014 08:30 PM

I wanna know where Harley got his info
U can't say something that dramatic and not give a link or reference.
If that's true that's a huge issue

They sure spent $$$ on vaccum bag technology video!

pathfinder2200 03-16-2014 08:41 PM

I remember them pictures. Funny as hell especially after bragging about quality and how they're high end boats not everyone can afford em!

My buddy speck addict on here has the 22 footer with a 175 suzuki. He got it last year and is pleased with it. Runs in the low 50's and says it rides well. I know they are a lighter weight boat so it makes since that they would be thinner, but I'm not sure if it would cause any issues. epic has been in bussiness for a while making wakeboarding boats that ive heard really good things about. Speck addict had some hull damage done to his boat while it was on the trailer. It was backed into something I think and fiberglass damage was done. I believed epic warrantied this.

The Epic boat problems was not with there bay boats, it was with some of there ski boats a few years back. The mold for this boat was developed by VIP or better known as Bay Stealth before they went out of business. When Epic purchased the facility this mold was left with the takeover. As far as quality of the boat you will be hard pressed to get a true review of quality being the newness of the boat. The weight of the hull is really not that much lighter comparing to other boat brands such as blazer bay. My opinion of the boat is middle of the road quality with a decent fit and finish, on par with the Nautic Star.
